I saw some at another fish store for 7 bucks and was like, really? I cannot really find them in the guide so I'm thinking they may be mixed. They are beautiful that I've thought it would be great to have a large tank with them.

Plecos can acclimate to the ph and live fine but its true that Africans can eat their eyes out.. Some Africans won't though... Acei and yellow labs won't mess with them... Snow White cichlids, electric blues, and bumble bees will... I killed mine when I found it with his eyes out several months...

I have bigger pipe because I have a bigger unit... It's the green clear pipe now but not the same size as the Eheim pipe. I am going to mess around with it. Can I just pull out the piece that plugs into the canister unit?

Will this work on all canisters or only certain size poly pipe?

Plecoptera don't really mess with the sand though and the food particles that make it to it.

I had 12 and now have 9. I am not sure the reason. Ph is 8, ammonia, nitrate, and everything else is good. I installed new Holey rock in those two weeks and they were cleaned... The fish all had perfect color, no signs of ich... Temp has been normal... No signs of war wounds... Tales and fins...

Make sure you are feeding it correctly and have the right ph balance... Watch for a n hour at their most active and see if anyone i constantly chasing him. I've lost some fish lately.

So you got the synodontis multipunctatus? I think I read that they are the breed that come out in daylight.

If you do not have a self primer.... What model canister do you have and how long would you say it takes to prime your can?

Before I read this I put my circulation fan near the top and that helped a lot. They left from the bottom and looked a ton more active. I did another water change using distilled water and everything cleared up. My large canister filter gets here tomorrow or Monday. Then I'll have the hob...

I wanted to add that I did do a water change tonite adding only bottled distilled water... About 10 gallons worth... It did seem to clear it a bit. I also changed the filters in the hob which I do often.

I checked the ph and its at 8 which is where I have kept it. The ammonia is where it's always been and the nitrates are less than 10. The fish are of good color. I recall before this took place I found myself cleaning a large amount of poo and thin clearish particle off the bottom a few days...

So, just did a cleaning and then added some holey rock to the tank. I had already soaked the holey rock and scrubbed it down prior to using it. I soaked it a second time. The water stayed clear. So am I seeing another bacterial bloom in a n already cycled tank that's five months old? Any ideas...
