I have some questions. What is the male/female ratio ? It is better with 1 male 2 females. What other fish are in the tank ? Has she had any babies? If you have other fish you might not want to put salt in the tank. And mollies like their pH 7.0-7.8 (yeah pretty acidic). They thrive at 7.2 Trust...

And also tropical fish are fin nippers, and they might nip at the FANTAIL goldfish. And since goldfish are slow swimmers they will most likely get infected and die.:(. So really I say no:nono:

Yes i've got molly babies and it is very exciting but for your question, as khoifish89 said let nature take its course. When the female is about to drop fry, she will look kinda square. And yes it is better when you have 2 or more females per male in mollies, guppies, and platies.

If it was gasping for air then it sounds like your Ammonia is high.:(

It sounds like the fish is either premature or sick. Or it could just be it has a genetic problem.

Calypso77 is right, mollies need 1 male 2 females or more females is better. And it does maybe sound like your pH or Ammonia is pretty high. Just buy some API brand water testing stuff.
