I have false rock in my tank and I have noticed a yellow growth forming all over it can anybody help with what it might be please?

Hi guys and girls, ive been closely watching my guppy today and he/she (not sure) seems very energetic constantly darting back and forth and swimming round the filter numerous times in a row.. Also appears to be changeing colour?? Im hoping this is just a sign that its content and happy?

The tank is old I got it from a friend who has had it set up for a long time she just got a new one so gave it too me, when I collected it it still had some of the original water in as she gave me a few fish aswell... Could I have somehow upset the balance?
