    Zoa Addicts Club

Just fragged my Zoas for the first time. I had some polyps that I thought might come loose to I proactively removed the and super glued them to plugs. One is Whammin Watermelon, the other Radioactive Dragon Eye. Going to use the to add color to more colorless region of my reef. Sent from my...

    Need help/direction badly!!!!!!!!!!

RODI, and get a GFO reactor. I personally I am sorry that I waited as long as I did on the reactor, because you can get them for less than 40 dollars, and they absorb phosphate. Chemiclean I used twice and it personally didn't work for me. I killed coral by cutting back the lighting they...

    Zoa Addicts Club

It was probably a silly thing, but I did just pick up about 100+ zoa polyps on a live rock, some red, some green, with a sponge and some kind of clam on it at Petco for 25.00 today. They were open and looking good and I just couldn't say no. I am a Zoa addict.

    Transferring live rock

If you are trying to rinse it with saltwater, why not drain some from the tank, and use it to rinse and add nice new saltwater back to the tank.

    Lighting frustrations

When it comes to Taotronics, I have a 48 in 55 gallon tank, and to do it right, I went two Taotronic units.

How long can you be in the hobby and getting started?

Just curious, I am coming up on two years, but wondering if that is still getting started or if I have moved into whatever we consider the next phase. There is still so much to learn and try, but there is a certain level of maturity and stability to the tank now. SRC<><

What are your two best saltwater purchases of 2014

Those are nice corals Big Red's Reef. I also would love to upgrade from a 60 to a 90.

    LED lights

I know that I was under using my lights, I told to cut them way back because of cyano. Now I have GFO, and that would probably have been a way better solution. Everything suffered from lack of light. Now working my tank strength back up.

Currently running 11 hours. 7 of it with both white and actinic. Adjust that up or down as well?

What are your two best saltwater purchases of 2014

Scopas Tang -- love that fish. Makes so much nuisance algae disappear. I have had Starry Night and Lawnmower Blenny before, but the Scopas is a gentler fish, with a bigger appetite and maybe even better eyes for seeking out green algaes to gobble up. When I see people with green hair algae...

    LED lights

This may seem to be a silly question, but it is LED related, and obviously them correctly is every bit as important having them. I have it set so that the actinic comes on, then later the white comes on, hours later white goes off and finally actinic off. Is that too much light, having both...

    Water Changes

I do 15 gallon water changes every two weeks to a month. Sometimes because I want to vaccum, sometimes because I want to know that my calcium levels are fine without testing. I use Kent reef salt.
