Yeah I have an aqueon and it is definitely making a clicking noise. I was freaking out because I thought I had a Mantis and was pretty close to tearing my tank apart and then I saw this thread. Haha. Just got this heater like 2 months ago what a POS. gonna try and bring it back.
Are the aiptasia only on one piece of lr? If so I would just remove the rock. i have read when you try to kill them in the tank they can have polyp bailout. they sense their demise and release polyps into the water that will spawn new aiptasia. Just from research though don't know for a fact...
Just set up a new tank and after a few weeks, Had tested parameters and everything was good. Noticed a small aiptasia on my rock so I went out and bought a peppermint shrimp. The peppermint didn't eat the aiptasia after 3 days so I dropped in a little frozen brine shrimp which I saw him eat...
