I do the same as Gatorfreak and my grass looks just fine. However when I was building my stand and canopy the mineral spirits that spilled on the grass killed it and has yet to recover.

I have currently converted my 46 gal reef tank to all sps. So I changed out the lighting and currently have 500 watts of MH and 2x 90 watt VHOs. As suspected this would heat up the tank alittle more than before and with the weather in FL heating up I think It may be time to invest in a chiller...

I have a 250 watt coralvue MH retro-fit mogul base that has 18 gauge braided wire connections. The connection the the ballast is also wired with 18 gauge braided wire. I was wondering if I need to use braided wire to extend that connnection or can I just use 18 gauge solid copper wire...

Well the URI VHO's are what I ended upgoing with since I had an extra Ice Cap ballast, It is broken but I sent it into them and they will fix it for $65 since its out of warrenty. Thanks for the input

Well the para guard must have worked because he looks alot better. All the spots are gone and his fins have healed up and look normal again. As for the bubble I ended up physicaly removing it from his tail, It was clear and hard and had a small redish brown streak in it. Not sure what it was but...

I was using reef crystals but I just ran out so I will be using regulat instant ocean from now on. After seeing the high calcium I do plan to stop dosing that until it gets back into check. I will contine with the alkalinity though as that still seems to be low. Thanks

Alk : 3 pH : 8.2-8.3 Calcium : 600 which I know is high but I did add Clacium today Took tests at 6:30pm 1 hour before MH lights out.
