I just installed my Super Squirt a week or so ago. This is on a new setup so I don't have any long term opinions yet. It is a little tricky to get all the plumbing right but it does a fantastic job switching the current around. I have mine setup as an over the back style closed loop with a...
I guess I will be getting some Selcon and Garlic Extreme also. I was just wanting to be sure my fish will be getting what they need. Right now I only have a maroon clown but will have others soon. Is this the same combo you use for most fish? I hope to get another tang which my previous ones...
I picked up some of it yesterday and had some questions for those that use this.
After you open it do you have to refrigerate it?
Also how do you put it in the food? Just a few drops before you feed or soak overnight?
TIA
Stephen
If it leaks at all it will just drain into the sump. It will be where you pushed the standpipe into the bulkhead. I will probably try a little teflon tape to tighten it up a little. It can only drain down the amount that is above the inner wall of the Megaflow and anything inside the overflow...
I wouldn't have tried it on say my 90 gal but I did on my 15 gal fuge. Worst case scenario may cost you $10 but don't be frightened. It's not that bad.
I haven't glued mine. This is in case I ever need to remove it later. I only glue if absolutely necessary. It'll may have a few small leaks but I don't believe it will be enough to stop the main flow. I have just freshwater tested mine so far but it does slowly leak at the bulkhead. The...
I started out with a dremel knock-off that was cordless. The battery didn't last long so I finished it with a hand drill. If you have access to a dremel that plugs in to an outlet I would recommend this. Another tip I did to help was put several layers of packaging tape across the inside of...
Thanks I didn't know there was anything like this. The pieces are not that bad crooked. I will live with it because my aquascaping plans will conceal the overflow. But this is good to know for future needs. :)
Thanks for all the help everyone! I found an old black notebook and cut pieces out of it. Worked out perfect except I didn't quite glue them on straight  You only get one shot with the super glue :(
I was so happy that I had to share. I just finished drilling my 15 gal fuge for another drain. A guy at the LFS drilled one already but I wanted a back-up. So I tried it myself. I used a Craftsman diamond point bit (P/N 953137) chucked in my drill. Took about 40 minutes.
Glad that's over...
This is probably the single best article I've seen on QT.

I agree with john0087 that you should be sure you have pure water going into the tank. Also one of the best things I ever purchased was a good protein skimmer. Although...
Yes it is black plastic and my skimmer is fed directly from the overflow drain. I just thought it might be tough making the silicone look presentable. The pieces of plastic superglued sounds like a good idea. Any ideas where I might get some thin black plastic?
I'm going to be covering up the middle holes completely and about 2/3rds of the holes in the bottom row. I want to overflow mostly surface water but will keep a few holes so there is no stagnant area between the baffles. Will silicone be good to fill these holes? Any ideas or previous...
