Out of all the amazing things in a reef tank, watching a shrimp clean a fish has got to be my favourite.

I ran a cannister on my old 150gal and when I changed to a sump,I could not believe the difference it made. The tank looks much better without all the heaters,skimmer etc. hanging on the back. I am hopefully setting up my new 72" 125gal this weekend and want to know if everybody leans their rockwork against the back glass or keep it away. If it is on the glass, is water circulation around the back a concern?

I think your going to need a heater good for 125 gal. I'd go so far as to suggest two heaters in case one fails. I am hopefully setting up my new 72" 125 gal this weekend. If all goes well, pics will follow.

Same here, three months is the best I could manage.

Go with the coral beauty instead of the large angel as I keep hearing they get destructive with age and the flame although great looking, mine was quite nasty to any other fish it's size or color. You have lots of room to play with, you'll love having a 150.

I have just recieved my new 72" 125gal tank which will replace my current 48" 150gal. The new tank is 22" tall while the old one is 30" tall. The lights on the 150 are 760 watts and my question is will the 8" difference in height allow me to get away with less total wattage say around 560 watts...

Increasing the size of the pipe may help overcome the loss from the fittings and the long run. Maybe try 1 1/4" supply and 2" return or even {and I hate to suggest it } flexible tubing so you end up with less hard bends.

There is really nothing to it, just pipe and fittings. I'd take a picture but we just moved to a new house and I can't find my camera.

I built a closed loop circiut with a Gen-x pump mounted under my 150 gal. and 3/4" pvc pipe to and from the tank. I made a spray bar that runs the length of the tank with 1/4" holes drilled in it every 2". The piping is hidden behind the rockwork and is hardly visible.
