not sure how much ammonia it can process... I put a couple of dead feederfish in to cycle. My lighting is a T5 HO fixture with two 39 watts.

    Stocking for my 40 gal.

Ok sounds awesome. Can you think of any other "cool" or exotic looking fish that would go good with the rest of the fish and would stay small as well?

    Stocking for my 40 gal.

I just set up a 40 gallon not to long ago, and am planning on plants soon, but I'm not sure about stocking. all I know is I want a big school of neons and a school of glass cats but I'm not sure what else to put in, if possible. So far this is what I was planning on: -20 neon tetras -(around) 5...

    New goldfish or shubunkin??

thanks everyone! I actually found 7 all together of this weird look and they all seem to be really healthy. a couple have only a few scales that I can see and then the rest seems to be "scaleless." I touched one and it felt really soft, like babies skin, no matter which way I rubbed it (not...

    new goldfish or shubunkin??

i got a couple feeder fish the other day. When I got home I took a closer look and found a scaleless (I think) goldfish. I went back today and found another! I'm not sure if they are a new type of "morph" or a shubunkin? I got them for 15 cents so no matter what, they are worth more than I...

    New goldfish or shubunkin??

When I got home I took a closer look and found a scaleless (I think) goldfish. I went back today and found another! I'm not sure if they are a new type of...

Do reptiles ruin tanks for fish?

that is true. but if it is housing a boa a heat pad is probably being used and it's moist. if it was a bearded dragon that would be a different story

Do reptiles ruin tanks for fish?

I used to have all sorts of snakes and lizards, and still do, just rehomed some and got into fish. I am currently using 2 tanks I had reptiles in and there is no difference in the tank, as long as u clean it. the only way it could be ruined by reptiles if you have a large lizard in the tank...

    Today's Petsmart Experience

I know. I know plenty of people that went and were told to buy a tank and fish the same day, and when the fish died because the water became toxic and they didn't take proper care, they can't e refunded because it says on the receipt that they must test the water from the tank and if anything is...

    Today's Petsmart Experience

they always tell me stuff like that, but I just say I have a couple tanks and there going in different ones, even if they aren't. just brining up something else I hate about petsmart, if you look at the little tags they have under the tanks identify the fish and care for example it says stuff...
