Bought it as a kit at my LFS in California. had a hose on the bottom and when you opened the valve they went down the tube into a container to feed the tank with... for heat, keep the bright light source near the bag and the heat...

    cool... Looks like I am well on my way. 55G was started on 1/17 with Bio-Spira, 20G was overstocked and had been up for 6 months... got the fish into the 55 on 1/19 (All but 5... the meat eaters... 2 Senegal Bichir's, 1 clown knife and 2 sailfin Pleco's for cleanup)

    you can also use "PH Down" and add a little, check it the next day, add a little etc till it's where you need to be... just DON'T add more than they say and don't change the PH more than 0.2/24 hours

    I have 5 in a tank with 2 Dinosaur eels (Polypterus Senegalus), 2 Australian Rainbows, 2 Blood fin tetra's and 2 Blue gourami's... they all get along just fine and seem to stay Within their own groups, though the rainbows and bloodfins do tend to play together.

    I have 2 2 1/2 gallon hex tanks with undergravel filters with my Betta's in there... they love it, are happy, are next to each other to keep from being bored, and each now has a plecostamus to keep algae down... I'll get some pics up later today or tomorrow

    no driftwood, and I also have used "Easy Balance" which the petsmart people said was very good at stabilizing PH... my tap water sits at 7.0... the 2 Betta's I have, in their 2 gal hex tanks both sit right at 7.0 and they have been here for a year with 25% changes every 3 months... here's some...

    Ok, Have a 20 Gal freshwater tank... started with AmQuel in water and let the tank sit and run for 2 weeks before I ever bought fish... let things stabilize etc... got 5 tiger barbs... (very small) no prob... a week later got 2 Australian rainbows... no probs... a week later, 2 blue...

    That's what they are, I just found out... Oh well... When I upgrade from my 20 Gal to something larger I'll probably do one tank just for them and whatever get's along with them.
