How long could the fish I have in my tank handle being in a 1 gallon tank? I don't know how long crowding them like that could last. Good ideas on that....I appreciate all the help. Time to get a python(I assume not the snake..LOL) and some garden hose....:>

Main thing you have to watch for is when the the eggs are laid you need to get the female out of the tank. The male will kill her if she gets too close to the nest. It is really neat to watch him take care of the eggs.

I read in here about water changes,partial water changes,etc. My problem is that I am disabled and have enough trouble getting around my house much less hauling water. Any ideas on other ways to get it done? I am planning on getting a test kit next month(set income ya know) and hopefully that...

Way back in the 70s I did the beta thing. Had small tanks...2 gallon I believe. I male in each and then a 5 gal with females. Bred them and sold them...it was fun but only 1 male per tank or it gets messy. They do work ok in a regular tank usally though.

I am going to check the local (75 miles away) fish store to see if I can get either the yoyo or the snail. Maybe both. I checked ordering but shipping is soooo expensive and I am on a set income. Thanks for all the info....I really appreciate it.

This one was about 2 inches when I got it. But my tank is not pristine. I am disabled and doing a partial water change is really hard for me to do more than once a month or so. Is there anything more hardy that would eat the snails? It is a shame....I did enjoy watching him.

I wish I could take credit for it. We bought regular neons at a pet store and one of them had babies a few days later and they were the black ones....:>

Not sure of my parameters....I do not have a kit right now. But everything seems to be doing ok. I got the clown loach because I was having a major snail problem....not sure where they came from. It did clear up the snails. I did not know that the tank was too small. Is there another fish that...

A few months ago I bought some neons from a private fish store. Within a few days one of them had babies of which 3 survived(I had no plants in at that time) the strange thing is that they all grew up to be black. I had never seen such a thing. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

I had another clown loach die. The first one was just a bad purchase from Petco and it died within 2 days. This one was healthier and I had it for almost a month. It did great on clearing up my snail problem. I have a 25 gallon tank with some guppies,neons and a pleco. Is it just bad luck or is...

I have been leaving my tank light on 24/7. My wife mentioned that maybe I should turn it off some. So I thought I would ask if it would affect the fish. Any ideas?? Thank you in advance
