Can I use play sand as a substrate in my 120 gal saltwater tank? I'm just starting it up. I eventually want it to be a reef tank if that makes a difference.
Ok... Finally scooped out the gravel and saved some of the sand. The whole time I felt like going back to that store and yelling at that girl for telling me it was ok to mix the two. Now, back to square one. I guess it wouldn't be a true saltwater experience if I didn't make a few mistakes.
The only thing in the tank is the gravel. The lights are Coralife 50/50. 6000k actinic 03

I have a 120 gal saltwater aquarium and just getting started. I added the salt yesterday. This is my first saltwater tank (I have a 55 gal freshwater as well). I know no one that has experience with saltwater and that is what brought me here.
