    Feeding Algae Sheets

They do eat meaty foods when I feed the rest of the tank. I apologize for the misnomer- I was just using the classification on liveaquaria for both species. Thank you for the advice. Do you usually feed the nori on the same day as meaty foods or more like - one day meaty, one day nori, one...

    Feeding Algae Sheets

I have a 4 inch Kole Tang and a 4 inch One Spot Foxface. How often should I offer Nori sheets to them? If people have experience with two similar sized herbivores - I would greatly appreciate advice.

Tangs - Tomini or Kole Yellow Eye?

Love my yellow eye kole. Life of the tank. Also every time I walk up to the tank he thinks I am about to feed - and he poops. Really quite funny.

Picked up new coral more like rescue

Super clean, pristine water - the right intensity lighting - correct amount of flow - patients - about 2 months. (This is all based on sps needs - would have to show pictures to see how bad each individual is if you wanted more info)

    Please ID these tentacles

Spionid worms - most people consider them a harmless filter feeder. I have seen about 10 in my tank at one time, and think they are kind of cool.

    Gbta help

I tried lots of tricks: - taping and image of a clown in an anemone to the side of the tank - slowly moving food into the anemone while the clowns were eating - even thought of placing a video on my iPad and putting that on the side of the tank I was giving up hope. Then one day, out of the...

How do you prevent a syphon?

I hope this helps - The problem is when the ATO reservoir's water level is higher than the pipe that delivers the water (as shown in the first part of the image) this creates a siphon - not a reverse siphon like normal, but a siphon in the same direction as the flow. The fix is the raise the...

How do you prevent a syphon?

Sorry - I had a gate or ball check valve in my mind. I have never used an air one. This is the same thing I accomplish with my small piece of PVC. I just didn't have the room to raise the sump any.

How do you prevent a syphon?

I don't think a check valve will work in this case because the siphon flow and the pump flow would be the same direction.

How do you prevent a syphon?

I ran a piece of 1/2 PVC about a quarter inch off the bottom of my sump. The PVC is taller than my top off container. I then use narrow tubing from my ato pump to just inside the PVC. It is about two inches into the PVC. The water runs down the PVC, but since the pump tubing is narrower it...

    Symbiotic Relationship

Thank you so much! I almost gave up hope and then after a stress-filled day at work, my gf said - Looooooooook - and my day turned around I tried things like taping a picture of a clown in the rbta to the side of the tank for multiple days and slowly pulling them into it with food. None of it...

    Symbiotic Relationship

I have a Sony NEX-5N mirrorless SLR. I used my utility 18-55mm lens, would love to use my 30mm macro lens, but every time I get close to the tank the clown thinks I am feeding and she leaves then anemone!
