I never said " they are a hybrid", I meant some people consider them a hybrid! And in that case I still like them. Sorry for any confusion on my statement

I'm not much for hybrids except the EBJD which I suppose could be considered one, but that is a beautiful fish none the less!

It could just be a bacteria bloom, try cutting back on feedings and continue with the water changes

What's your ratio of m/f? Once they are comfortable with their surroundings they will breed like crazy! They can pull some serious money in my LFS sells juveniles for 50 dollars

There is no need for an air pump, not sure about the wave maker but I have a power head in my tank just to keep the water circulated....

They make a cichlid live sand from that same company! It's a white-tan sand with a bunch of small to medium shells, and has all the benif bacteria in it
