    Ye thought of that, thanks. Would it be best with a deep sand bed Or a thin layer. I was thinking of getting a cheap hob filter and taking the media our and putting the microalgae in there with a light. Not 100% sure which way to go but i know i want to do one to help supplement my own...

    Cant you still the top rocks and the ones below and use some zip ties, it might look unsightly to begin with but will soon be covered up with algae Or postition the holes to the back and you wont see them.just an idea.

    That looks to me diatoms all over your sand, they use the silicate in the sand ect, you best bet is to leave it to it and it will disappear. As for the hair algae a couple of snails and crabs will help but wont solve, Start doing more regular water changes,and turning your light photoperiod down...

    Sorry me wrong. Ooopps. The corals are part of the familt group called xeniidae which includes xenia, anthelia amd efflatounaria corals,( pulsing,pom pom and waving hand), the coral that you and i have are called anthelia, they like strong flow and strong lighting ( well for a softie any way)...

    That looks like à xenia pom-pom coral, o have a large colony in my tank, they spread well and give brilliant motion in the tank. Heres a pic of mine. If you look at the top this is it, ill put a better pic for you when i get home from work.
