me personally, I would turn your tank down to 78 and if you can get a good hydrometer, you want to me around 1.024 for fish and coral. when you get coral you are going to want to get a good light, im a fan of LED due to the low cost overall.

I noticed my hipo tang started rubbing himself on some shells and noticed the white spots on him. I turned up the heat, but im curious on how I can heal these fish with no quarntine tank. Will the heat help cure the ich or should I put in medications

since I have started my tank, I have 5 pieces of live rock in it and one Chromis fish, everything including the sand is starting to get a green hairy algae on it, does anyone have a soloution on how to get rid of it. all the numbers on the water test comes out perfect, not sure where to go...

curious on what a good tank tempature would be for a community tank with life rock and coral, im thinking around 83 but not sure on this one. and what is a good salinaty for the tank, righ tnow im sitting around 1.023

skimmers are great as mentioned above but not needed in a 55 Gal tank for sure. how long has your tank been up and running?
