I was thinking of getting a male siamese fighting fish.would it be ok to have it with these fish.neons, corys, 1 gouarmis 2 german blue rams

I understand that but im happy with sand because of my corys and gives more of natural look.why would i change my substrate

Why's that.surely im going to loose alot of good bacteria by doing that and risk stressing out the fish

I usually do a 30% change every 4 to 5 days usually.because my substrate is sand it looks untidy when poo sits on top of sand.

Just got in from work and checked tank.the white spot has gone so iv lowered temp back to normal also ill water change later.i noticed that the tank smells alittle today.dont no why.

If i water change say every other day.am i giving the bacteria time to grow again

If they breed then cool.im not too bothered about them breeding as long as their happy.3 of them seem happy out swimming but still one behind filter that rarely comes out

Thanks.i actually purchased another small male and female so i have 2 of each.they seem a little happier now but ill take your advice and get afew more females

What time of day is it best to switch on an air stone.i have two air stones and i have plants.the man in the local fish shop said it would be best to turn on at night because the plants make carbon dioxide at night reducing the oxygen in the water. Is this right?
