That's true, I have balloon mollies that have given birth a bunch. Not saying it always works, but some stores I've been to try to separate the fish by sex.

Well, it was my first time having a tank so I didn't know what I was doing, but my sand never cleared up. Like I said in my first post, some people might be fine with sand, but I had a bad experience and all my fish did die.

I would also recommend balloon mollies and cory cat fish. They're both super fun to watch! Just make sure if you get balloon mollies you only get females-- they breed like crazy.

Balloon mollies are also fun to watch and certainly not shy. Just make sure you get all females so they don't breed.

I've had the same issue w/ one of my mollies having both fungus and fin rot. It's possible your angelfish is too far along to help, but you might as well try. I'd suggest using melafix by API, it's cured my same fish twice from fin rot.

I've never had that issue with snails before, but maybe you should try to put bigger rocks around the roots or something to block the snails? Also, I would NOT switch from gravel to sand. Maybe if you're a more experienced tank keeper you can do it, but from my personal experience it is not good...
