    I happen to read you have high nitrates in your tap water. That is your problem. Nitrogen and phosphorus are the main limiting factors with regards the algae growth.     Truthfully the best way to get true aquatic plants is buying the online...it does cost more because of shipping but in the end its well worth it

    Yeah...they often sell terrestrial tropical plants as "aquarium plants". They arent the only ones that do it either. Im really not sure why they do it. But every time i go in there or any other big box store that sells fish i cringe.

    You have a few semi aquatic plants in there...the bamboo and the variegated leafed plant not sure on the name. You may find they will die off eventually. Semi aquatic plants only tolerate the root system submerged

    did it come from the substrate? One possibility is that its a Hydrogen sulfide gas bubble. Its a by-product of anaerobic bacteria consuming organic material.

    If your referring to color.....it wont change. Albinos are the appearance they are due to lacking pigmentation.
