walmart seems to offer the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fish. On occasion ive had a fish from there survive, but its a game of luck...stick to the lfs

    I am a bad person

id agree with that based on the whole "supply/demand" capitalist ideal we live in, in the US, but we arent the only country that gets these fish, and nothing is gonna stop the practice of dying fish...as long as one person in the world wants one, they will still make them...people have been...

vinegar works wonders for safely removing adhesives, providing the fish are no where near the vinegar that is...even the littlest bit of vinegar in the tank with destroy the ph and dare i say possibly the tanks mini ecosystem... good luck with the mollys :D

    I am a bad person

first off, i believe that it is very cruel to inject the fish with dye...i cant say that enough... that being said, there will sadly enough always be a market for these fish...i feel that theyve been through enough already, and people should purchase them, not in support for the method, but to...

    more on rams......

while it wouldve made sense to keep this in one of the ram threads already going, i decided to create a new one for the sake of non-confusion... anywayz, i really want german blues beacause of their peaceful temperment, however ive read they like caves and are territrorial...i have 2 jade gobis...

Algae getting out of hand! :( Suggestion?

very true...but ive seen otos get upity with smaller fish, plecos would be fine no matter what size and as the get bigger there are the spirulina wafers to keep them well fed

    What to stock

i dont see why not depending on the size of the shrimp...bettas are mainly surface/midwater fish and shrimp are bottom dwellers...if u get larger size ghost shrimp they should be fine...plus ive noticed any time i had a betta they are wasteful fish and the shrimp should give u longer between...

    What to stock

the only suggestion i have is to check out www.liveaquaria.com they have a really wide variety of fish to check out as well as bios on all of the fish...im not sayin to get fish there, i dont believe in buying fish online, but itll help broaden your horizons with any luck

Algae getting out of hand! :( Suggestion?

i'd say go for it, hell get 2...lol...u cant go wrong with plecos because they're probably the most docile fish out there...ive always had at least one pleco in my tank, i have 4 in my 55gal and theres not a speck of algae there anywhere

Algae getting out of hand! :( Suggestion?

u seem 2 have a lot of room left in the tank so adding fish wouldn't be a problem...plecos, algae eaters , and snails are your best bet...freshwater clams and bamboo shrimp help keep the microbes that create algae out of your tank as well theres always the good old fashioned scrubbing

No goldfish in a tropical tank, right? Why?

i dont agree with most goldfish-in-tropical-tank forums...if u put one goldfish in a tropical tank, it isnt really gonna hurt that much...i have a goldfish in my 55 gal and my buddy has a big one in his 90 gal...neither of us have had problems, the fish love it...just keep an eye on ammonia and...

I have a 55 gal with mainly barbs and tetras...they seem to live in perfect harmony..i also have 2 loaches, 2 jade gobis, and an iridescent shark...as long as u stick to similar size fish, i dont see any problems with adding any of the fish i have. i will add that you need to make sure you...
