    Refuge vs. straight Wet/Dry sump??

Thanks lando. Couldn't I just keep the trickle part with the bio-balls and convert the reservoir area into the fuge? or is that not viable or even counter-productive? thanks again.

    Refuge vs. straight Wet/Dry sump??

Hey guys, It's amazing how set you think you are until you start reading everything on here. I'm getting ready to set up my 150gal. I have a 39 gallon Oceanic Wet/Dry sump. Chould I (if I can even do it) convert it to a fuge instead? Or should I do sort of a hybrid? Maybe with some live sand...

    Best lighting?

I may go with that PC/Halide combo from Coralife then, because I want (well, SHE wants) to get a Maxim clam. I have her buying into this whole thing, I should make her happy right? LOL m

    Best lighting?

Hey darin, I have a 150 HIGH... would a 4x65 still be ok for a reef? Or should I go with the 96watts? I want to steer clear from Halide if I can, but with a depth of 30" am I dreaming? thanks, mike

    A GOOD RO/DI system??

I already got an Oceanic 3 sump... the one thing about it is, well 1: it's Oceanic so you know it'll hold together, and 2: it fit a nice 49 gallons under my tank. I was looking into making part of it a fuge, but, I'll just put some LR rubble in after the trickle for now. I gotta hit Home Depot...

    A GOOD RO/DI system??

Hi all, I'm reading a lot today about people getting jammed up with these "100gpd" RO/DI set ups. I'm seeing them on E-bay for like $69 bucks, and I'm starting to understand why the may not be so good. Anyone having any luck with an systems in particular? I have a 150gal. and I don't want to...

Seeing a lot of post that are making me now raise my eyebrow

I'm having a "plumbing" situation on my sump as it is. The feeds that came with my sump don't fit the stand pipes that came with the tank. I guess this is gonna be a custom job. Probably a better idea anyway.

    A few outstanding questions...

Yeah. I was thinking of the onther one as a spare. Can't ever be too careful. I'm usually a vey handy guy. I fix and build a lot of stuff, AND I had a lot of FW tanks, but I'll be damed if a lot of this SW stuff has me dumbfounded. HA! Can I ask one last dumb question? How exactly does a closed...

Seeing a lot of post that are making me now raise my eyebrow

Great feedback! Really appreciate it. I'll keep you updated. Thanks! One more question. IYO, if I'm running a 950 on the return, can I also run a 950 on the in-sump skimmer? Or should it be bigger or smaller? Thanks again. mike

Seeing a lot of post that are making me now raise my eyebrow

I have a 150H (4'L x 2'D x 30"H) that was rated by Oceanic for up to 600GPH. It came pre-drilled with TWO holes in the bottom. I have a good friend that's been running 2 125's for years and he says that one drain and one return is fine. I wanted to use both drilles holes as drains and bring a...

    A few outstanding questions...

What do you think? The ASM 3? And what about my pump ?s: Just picked up 2 Mag 950s. New in box. $105 for both on E-bay. good deal. I was going to run one on the return and the other on the skimmer. Will that work or should they be different sizes? Thanks again CR. Great site by the way. I...

    A few outstanding questions...

My sump hold about 39 gallons so I wanted to get some nice flow in there. I ws going to look into a decent size skimmer. This is the one area that I can't seem to come to a sound conclusion where I'm actually ready to make a buy. m
