    Purigen - knee highs?

If you have a food sealer you can cut the bag and seal it into smaller ones. I go four of "the bag"s and cut them down into enough bags for 2 55 tanks, a 10, a 20 and a 75. Two bags per tank so I can put in a new one while the used one is regenerating, so a total of 10 bags!

What Did You do With Your Tank Today?

I use an auto feeder all the time on my leopard ctenepoma tank. They are so shy it works well - they can be fed while I'm not standing by the tank. I use the autochef and love it.

Just For Fun: The Dumbest Mistake You Ever Made With A Tank

Not QT - had some ich. And getting distracted during a WC. My level didn't get as low as completelycich's did, but it was about 5" left in the tank.

    Heater Position

I've always figured it is because the temp sensor is at the "top" of the heater. If it heats the water in the vertical position, that warm water rises and the heater may turn off too soon. If it's horizontal, the warm water rises away from the heater and temp sensor.

Thoughts on buying a water changer

That's the one I use and I love it. I don't hook it to the sink until I'm ready to fill up, though. I don't like to waste water - just dip the end of it into the tank and lift up a few times to get water into the tubing, it will create a siphon and suck the water right out - I run mine out the...

How to Clean a Dirty Fish Tank and Not Hurt the Fish So how many of you remove all your fish while cleaning the tank? Unplug and remove the heater? Add 1 cup sea salt per 50 gallons of water? I thought it was nice for the people who have no idea how to care for fish, and it's smart to unplug...

    Fake Decorative Plants

I used to use them - had a bunch of them in my tank for several years and they were fine. All fish were fine. Doesn't mean you will have the same luck, though ;)

    Pothos dying?

Huh. I had read they can live submerged for extended periods of time, and these have only been in the tank for a couple of weeks! The one that is doing well has been in for about a month or a little longer. I've got some in my AC 70's too and love it. Think the "dead" ones will grow back from...

    Pothos dying?

Anyone else using Golden Pothos in their tank? I've got it in a 55 gallon with two 48" T8 bulbs (6500K), completely submerged. It was doing great until I added API Leaf Zone and Seachem Flourish last week. Today (8 days later) I noticed that two of them are dead. The third one is doing...

    Water Left in Python Tubing

An Aqueon Water changer -like a python. And I don't hook it to the sink to create a siphon. I drain out the door and only hook it to the sink when I refill the tank. The stagnant water doesn't go anywhere but out the door, and as it drains it pulls tank water out with it, creating my siphon.

    Water Left in Python Tubing

I leave water in mine. I don't hook to the faucet until I fill the tank back up, so leaving water in the tube creates instant suction next time I need to do a water change. I just store it in a box under my tank between changes.

    Help!! my fish is stuck!

I had a Raphael Cat that did that all the time - never saw him swimming around the tank except when I fed him. Otherwise he was in the decor. I forgot about him once, took the decoration out and put it on a towel in the floor while I arranged the tank. Heard him clicking, and put it back in. He...

    Fry guppys

If it's only guppies in the tank, the fry should be fine. I've got a guppy fry a lot smaller than that in a tank with platies and they ignore it.

    Are these MTS?

Oh I forgot the biggest reason I asked. They don't seem to burrow much- I have a sand substrate but they are on top and on the glass all the time. Maybe just because there are so many of them in the tank? Anyone else have MTS that are always out?
