    filter problem

    I have an aqua tech dual carbon filter. The parts that are supposed to spin no longer do. The water still passes through, though. I tried cleaning the parts where they lay inside in hopes that would help, but no luck. Is it imperative that those things spin if the water is still being filtered...

    I have a 55 gallon with mollies and plattys. The fish are doing well right now but a couple weeks ago I had a couple die. I just cannot seem to get my water conditions right. The biggest problem is HIGH PH, high hardness, and high alkalinity. I know the solution is to do lots of water changes...
