i think thats what im dealing with...i have had the neons in the QT tank for over a month now...still having that one spot each that resembles ich...but after almost 8 weeks of high temp nothing happened...one has a crooked spine...and about half of them are looking really thin...so ive been...

i dont know whats going on with my tank...ive quarantined the neons already and now yesterday morning i woke up and looking at the remaining fish (which seemed to be healthy as of yesterday) i realised that now one harlequin rasbora is really swollen...literally she or he looks like a hatchet...

i have this bottle of jungle anti parasite medicated food but it doesnt state anywhere what the active ingredient is...i checked their website as well and it doesnt say anything either....anybody knows??? thanks :wink:

since i cant figure out what is going on with the neons ive decided just to get them out of the tank and transfer them to a 10gal QT...i have a 50 watt heater and an AC 20 for that tank but since its all brand new the QT is not cycled :? ...so i will be performing lots of water changes until...

thats what i feel when i look at my tank lately...its been a month since i have been trying to battle ich...with the heat only method....i started with 2 neon tetras having one spot each and now i have 4 of them with one spot each...the other fish seem unaffected....could be that i misdiagnosed...

this is one of my otos...hes an outgoing kinda guy...he pretty much spends the entire time there until the lights go off...i guess from that position he figures he can keep a close eye on all the other inhabitants :lol: gotta love otos...they are so cute :mrgreen: (please excuse the algae :oops...

so i purchased the phosphate test kit...they didnt have the seachem one at big als so i got the aquarium pharmaceutical one...i just tested the tank and i got phosphate 0.5ppm nitrate 5ppm i do have a lot of algae growing...the color? you name it i have them all... :oops: ...theres a dark brown...

ill be going to the lfs in a couple of hours and i need to get a phosphate test kit...any brand you guys recommend? thanks!

once you get the temperature up to 86F...how long does it take for the spots to go away? my temp has been around 86F for about 5 days now and the 2 neons still have the one spot each...also...ich dies at 85 but we keep it at 86 to be on the safe side :roll: ??? Thanks!

2 days ago i bought the glass top for my tank so i could add a second light fixture...the thing is...when i put it on it was fine then as soon as i put the light on top of the glass the whole *&^%@#$%^ thing fell into the tank :evil: apparently the sharp brain who cut the glass had a faulty...

so i bought this fancy digital thermometer today and im wondering if you have to leave it on...its a silly question but ive never had one before and since they use a battery i was just wondering...the cheap one i had was good actually...they both read the same temp....oh well.... :?

hello everybody...i have 2 otos in my 29 gal tank and i was wondering how often i should feed them with the algae wafers...i give it to them about once a week and also once a week i give them a stem of broccoli which they love...would that be enough? thanks! :D

i have a 29gal tank with a 15 watt light bulb...and i have about 7 plants in the tank...so once a week i add seachem's excel fertilizer...about 2.5ml with my pwc...all the plants are doing ok...not growing fast but thats not a concern since they are not dying...i was wondering if thats enough...

doesnt look very pretty but it really works....the teaspoon is one of those "fish only" items... :D btw...i got my ottos about 10 days ago and they are doing great! and they did an amazing job with the algae...all gone...i acclimated them for about 12 hours... 8O ....better safe than sorry no?

i got the melafix today to treat the problem i have with the neons fins...right before i added it i realised the color of the neons has turned really dull...and one of them is swimming in circles....they were ok a couple of hours ago when i went to turn off the lights....the rasboras are...
