    So hard to say no

Since I was 2 weeks old I have had goldfish(same ones today!) And they started out in a 7 gallon tank. Then we only had two but one turned out to be a koi carp so grew to a foot fast. We just kept upgrading and to this day I am still upgrading for my 20 odd year old fish. I would just let him...

Seeking advice on what Im thinking

For heating if I had two i would probably only go for 75 or 100 watts(only my opinion though stick with what you feel comfortable with). Under the filters should spread the heat around the tank nicely especially as there would be two. You have thought about this a lot ,I'm impressed. Good luck

    Something in sump

Could be or maybe a dwarf gourami? Never seen their fry but if you have males and females its possible. I would just leave it and see what happens. Make sure it doesnt get in the tank incase it is dangerous but it could grow into a nice fish. If it doesnt grow or multiply you could just leave it...

Seeking advice on what Im thinking

Just to add the filter placement sounds good but I would try to put the heaters near them so they will be more effective. I would also put the filters as far away from each other as possible to maximise the flow around the tank.

Seeking advice on what Im thinking

Just as my first thought the heating and filtration sound a bit of over kill. Then again it makes it more reliable but keep an eye on the temperature while doing fishless cycle as two heaters can ,in my experience, cause the water to overheat. It all sounds great but why not try some live...

    Mixing up feeding time

Daphnia are good for fish with small mouths as a live food. Mine eat cucumber courgette apple bloodworms daphnia algea wafers and flakes and all seem to be doing well.

    Identify please

If they did get out of hand you could introduce a snail eating fish such as a clown loach or a smaller,in most cases, more suitable option such as a zebra loach or yoyo loach.

Too much of a good thing?

Providing you do regular water changes they will survive.

    Lethargic molly

I have noticed my fabourite molly (called Jane after a friend) has been sitting on the bottom or behind the filter and not eating. She looks thin and scrawny and i am worried about her. What hasnt helped is my male keeps trying to breed with her (despite four other females) so i am going to buy...

    Guppy fish

Look for a black spot near her tail. Their bodies are always that shape but they have a black spot that gets darker the closer they are to giving birth.

    how long til she pops?

If you bought them like this they may just be balloon mollies. If they have grown then expect babies within the next two weeks probably closer to one week than two.

    20 gallon high stocking

Opaline gouramis are nice and grow to a decent size. A small shoal of around five mollies could work but if mixed genders prepare for babies. Emerald cory cats are good and so are hoplo catfish(not corys but small and friendly). Hope it helps

    Help livebearer in bowl

Not permanately but if you can provide a stable temperature then they could give birth in one like a hatchery net. Or as a temporary home for a day or two yes but no not a permanant home.

    Lonely parrot cichlid

I have a 100l tank which i keep mollies and guppies in and one small parrot cichlid cause a friend needed rid of him and he is full grown but still only small. Stocking help

By careful with plecos. Bristlenoses stay quite small but watch them. I would suggest a mix of guppies and endler guppies. They breed across the species and are beautiful. Mollies are also nice but grow bigger. Hoplo catfish are friendly community fish and good scavengers. Weather loaches are...

    stock

For shrimp I would suggest cherry shrimp. The stay small and are not aggressive plus look quite pretty in the tank. They swim around a lot and are quite fun to watch

    betta care

I have keep many bettas in bowls. I never filtered and instead did whole water change every week. They are very tidy fish so I found that all that was necessary. I kept plants few times which died quick with no filter but I found some lived long planted in charcoal

    Starting my tank-advice needed?

Thank you for your replies,I found them helpful. I would still appreciate more advice and one more question.Does anyone know if I would be safe to place this tank on a second floor? It has depth so would it be bad for floor if a corner for support?

    Why are they dying?

Smaller fish can be very sensitive because their size so will often die while larger fish are fine. As others have said you just need be careful about ph and nitrate/nitrite and ammonia
