Have you tried adding a sponge to you Filter intake , I have sand bottom and so I feel your pain... lol, I also use a blue and white filter media pad that I cut up and rapped it around my intake, Hope that helps!!!!

Hey all, I have a 29 gal. that I started a cycle(it has been about 2 weeks) with a bunch of fake plants,I fluval 70 hob(was an extra in my 55 gal tank and has been running in there for about 2 months) and some java fern and java moss.The question I have is I am doing a fishless cycle useing...

I guess I am a little nervous because my ph is @8 after 24 hrs out of the tap. How do you do a pwc if it drops alot do you use ph minus to bring the ph down as not to freak my fish out.?

Does anyone have a guess how much it will lower my ph in a 29 gal with my ph being @ 8 ?

I also used play sand in my 55 gal and I used three buckets and 1 at a time I put the Garden hose in there and pushed the sand around with the water pressure but when it got clear I let the water run stuck down in the sand for another 20 min longer and I had no floatys.I love the look and good luck

First off has anyone used with Aqueon plant food ? If this is not what works what would be a good choice? Also I have herd that co2 will raise Ph levels is this right ? I am only planting some low light plants in a 20 long .
