    best filter????????

I have a 75g tank predrilled with a sump. In the sump was a heater and a berlin(red sea) protein skimmer. I had 125 lbs of live rock with a about 75 crabs and 50 snails.(half mexican turbo snails). I had a lot of coral and two tangs. one yellow and one brown. I was using VHO 440 watts. I...

    Battling Cyano and Hair Algae

you could try rock blenny or lawn mower blenny (same thing) I hate using chemicals, but www.aquaplumbers.com sells a phosphate remover pad that was awsome! I was a big protester to pads and chemicals, but when my corals where in danger, I gave it a try and I couldn't believe the results...

    best filter????????

doesen't these clean up crews produce waste and how much maintenance are we talking about here. When I tried the berlin way with plenty of clean up crews I found it was like a part time job monitoring and wc. I am not saying that the berlin way is bad, but I had to do too much work to keep...

    Sump and fuge idea....please help

Scary if you ask me. too much room for error, and you would have to make sure the fuge was a bit higher than your sump. I think it would be better to turn your sump into a refuge. you can use a sump as a refuge with the aplication of several pieces of acrylic. just a thought.

    best filter????????

Actually, it is not bogus. Mechanical filtration can and does produce nitrates. While it may create an anaerobic environment for denitrafying bacteria (just like biological filtration) that is not it's primary fuction. Mechanical filtration catches detritus from the water on some type of pad...

Cool, Thanks steve, I will pass that on to him! I think most of his stock is focused around 48" tanks because he told me he sells more of them than anything else. I think that he puts stuff out there that he trust and would recommend to his own family is what he told me, but I will tell him...

    best filter????????

Wet dry's are very good all around system.(even better than any when set up correctly) By the time you buy an eheim,(unless it is used) you could have a wet dry system. just a suggestion.

    Fuge Setup

I have found that the rubbermaid containers after a year or so in salt water seem to get fragile. if you bump it too hard or moving a rock or something it just might break it. Just a possible warning. Good luck

pick out an overflow box for me.

not on the ones from aqua plumbers. I can't speak for all of them. The ones on aqua plumbers once you make the syphon you will not have to worry about it again. won't break syphon for any reason except human intervention.
