I used to use Oceanic now I use Oc, but as soon as this bucket is gone Im going to switch back. I miss the 420 ppm of calcium. I pay about 8-10 dollars less for a 5 gallon bucket of Oc but I spend 10x that in calcium supp. A fresh batch Of Oc measures around 350ppm of calcium.

I will answer a few The aqua remora and Bak pak skimmers are bouth good skimmers. I have both of them but I prefer the remora a bit more. If you get a bak pak get the one without the bio filter floss. It is a waste if your planning on getting Live rock. I think your lfs is talking about...

yes I use Salifert Calcium and hard coral trace. The thing I cant figure out is why my other tanks are fine and that one is high. I have a phosphate reactor on the tank thats the only difference I can think of. I will remove it and change 10 gal this weekend and see what happens.

how deep is your tank? you may want to go with 250W mh. The NO lights will add a nice effect but wont do much in the way of light for your sps.

250 watts should be ok for most LPS and soft corals but if you want clams or Sps I would go with MH right from the start.

I would say it depends on the fish you want to Qt. Qt tanks are for treating sick or injured fish. Many people also use them to quarantine new fish to make sure they are healthy, and do not contract a disease. A single diseased fish can destroy an entire system.

I use the salifert kit for calc and kh/alk. some of their kits are 10 times better but some of them are the same color matching crap and not worth the extra $.
