Cory Cats in a 20G Tank?

I think you are right, 5 emeralds seems like too much for my tank...but maybe the smaller pandas will work. My two emeralds are pretty small right now. Only about an inch and a half, but I haven't had them long. One day I will get a larger tank...I got this 20g thinking it was so big compared...

Aw I looked at your pictures, very cute :) I just love cory cats. I will probably end up getting a couple of pandas to put with the other two.

Ok thanks for all the great info! :) what are some of the smaller cory cats? Could you mix the emerald with a couple of panda cory or are they considered one of the larger ones as well?

Cory Cats in a 20G Tank?

I have a 20G high aquarium and currently have two Emerald Green Cory Cats, a couple of ghost shrimp and some mollies. The aquarium has a mix of live plants and a "cave" that the fish like to hide in sometimes. I've read that the Cory Cats do best in groups of 6 or more...I don't think a 20G...

    Please help me

I'm pretty new, so you should see what others have to say too, but I've had this happen to my fish and found out that it was ammonia poisoning. You should definitely get the test kit and do a water change. Maybe get Prime too, but you need to know your water parameters.

    Black spots on my molly?

Ok I have an update on my molly UPDATE: I have been doing water changes and gravel vac since, and keeping ammonia at 0... unfortunately I've just noticed little white dots on about half of the fish *see pic* Could someone please tell me if this is Ich? I'm thinking it is since they are...

    Black spots on my molly?

Ok thank you for the help. Do you think that is why she keeps rubbing herself up against the tank?

    Black spots on my molly?

Ok I got my liquid test kit, and tested the ph, ammonia, and nitrate and nitrite. I also vacuumed the gravel and changed some of the water. I think the tests look good. I got 0 ammonia, ph was 7, nitrate and nitrite 0. So it can't be ammonia poisoning right?

    Black spots on my molly?

I only have the test strips, which say everything is normal. I actually ordered the liquid test kit from amazon and it will be here this afternoon. So I will test with that when I get it and post my results.

    Black spots on my molly?

One of my mollies has started rubbing herself up against things in the tank and I just noticed little black spots on her and she doesn't seem to look as nice as the other molly.... I've tried researching this and it sort of sounds like Ich? But I don't see the white spots, just black. I'm...

Low light plants for a new tank

Realistically, will I need to buy a co2 kit if I am planning to put live plants in my tank?

    My mollies are fighting-help?

Thanks, that does explain a lot. I actually noticed the two females fighting this morning. It seemed to be territorial because the one female was trying to keep the other one from coming around the little coral cave. Now whenever a molly gets close to the cave, she will go over and scare the...

Low light plants for a new tank

Thanks, the liveaquaria website was helpful. I guess I need to find a taller bamboo stick then, did not realize they needed to stick out of the water. Looking at the plants on that site, I really like the "fuzzy" look to the Cabomba, Myrio - Green, and Anacharis. Although looking at the info...

Low light plants for a new tank

I have only had my 20 gallon freshwater tank for about three weeks now. I only have a moss ball and a lucky bamboo stick (are these ok to have in the tank fully submerged?). The rest of the plants are fake. I would really like to make my aquarium look natural, and take the fake plants out. What...

    My mollies are fighting-help?

    1. This is my first tank and these are my first fish. I have 4 mollies total. My two gold dust male mollies (I will attach pictures-please confirm if they really are male I believe they are) have gotten along since I bought them (for about 4 days) but this afternoon when I went to feed them one...

    Hi everyone!

Hi everyone, I am only three weeks into having a freshwater aquarium (my very first). This is very new to me, and I probably didn't do as much research as I should have to begin with. But, that being said, I am truly enjoying it so far. I have a 20 gallon tank, and about five days ago got 4...
