    Protien skimmer help

Buy the SWC 180 cone skimmer. If you stock lightly you can get away with the 160. Awesome skimmers. And very very quiet. Wont ever buy another brand skimmer.

The tank is cycled and i have questions!

You dont need to buy live rock. Its a rip off at $6-$13 a pound. If your tank is cycled just throw in dry rock. The bacteria will colonize in it and it will become live.

The tank is cycled and i have questions!

First off. If your tank is just cycled for 5 days your pod population isnt anything and your dragonet will die. Unless you get him to eat frozen which is no easy task. 2nd off you need a lot more rock, not live rock, just rock. It will become live after its in there for a while. And the fish you...

    Algae!

I have green algae everywhere in my tank and I dont know why. This was the main reason I quit the hobby before. I use rodi water, I have changed the bulbs, I have a clean up crew, nitrates and phosphates read 0, and im running a gfo reactor! Im seriously frustrated and getting ready to throw a...

Lighting your reef... Best bang for your buck.

And these are under the reef breeders? They look pretty sweet. Im still deciding. I have about $800 to go with for a 120 gallon.

Lighting your reef... Best bang for your buck.

Im iffy on these lights. I want to pull the trigger and buy them. But in a month or two I dont want to regret it and see my corals not growing. My buddy has them and loves them. But again, he has trouble growing zoas near the sandbed. Nothing is less than halfway up the tank and his corals dont...

    Reef safe fish

I agree 100%. I eventually want one of them also but down the road. Thats exactly why I want my pods to repopulate. I wont put anything in that eats them. Plus theyre in my fuge as of now. But they are beautiful fish. There are just some people out there that shouldnt be allowed to buy them lol.
