    Resealing my 125 tank

That's an old tank for sure. Well the fillet seam looks to be in good shape on my tank, no bubbles or missing silicone. When I filled it up the glass seemed to hold together perfectly and it didn't leak at all. The previous owner bought it brand new and never had a problem either. I think I'm...

    MY TANKS

The bowfront is 36 and is stocked and set up. The 125 is going to be set up in place of the bowfront. Can't wait for that.

    Resealing my 125 tank

You would think I would know what good silicon looks like seein how I use the stuff all the time in my construction job. But nope, not a clue what to look for. There are no bubbles or no cracks and the silicon isn't dried out or anything. The only problem is that on the inside where the silicon...

    Resealing my 125 tank

So I hate to bore you all with my worries and problems, but hey I guess that's what this is for. My 125 gallon tank isn't set up yet and its out in my garage as I speak. Its getting set up in my house next weekend for sure, I'm tired of dealing with my anxiousness. My question is this... with...

Is a need for top center brace for 120 reef tank

I know this thread is a little old but I had the same problem with my 125 gallon tank. I took a piece of 3/16 metal and cut a strip off just big enough to fit under the center brace. Then I drilled four holes through the center brace and metal piece. I took four pop rivots and used them to...

    Too heavy?

Look at it this way, each gallon of water is going to weigh roughly 10 pounds. So you know the stand will hold about 500 pounds. With the 75 gallon your looking at about 750 pounds. IMO that's a lot more weight and that's a risk. I would make sure you reinforce the cabinet if you really like it...

HELP!!! All my Filters have stopped working.

I read somewhere that if you have sand substrate you can put piece of panty hose around the intake tube. This way the sand wont be able to get to the mechanical pieces of the filter. But still at the same time it won't suck all the bigger pieces of stuff that needs to be filtered. Its worth a...

    Under gravel filters

Well that's not what I wanted to hear right off the bat. I'm going this route only because the guy that owns a fish store near me has 40 plus tanks, fresh water and salt water, uses only undergravel filters. And he swears by it. It takes the pressure off having to get all the filters for a HOB...

Will my dresser hold more than 800 pounds?!?

Go with what "notmrjohn" posted. And no matter what the case my be attach it to the wall, like he said it will be top heavy. Short and stumpy cabinet would be the way to go, that way it has a solid base to sit on. Oh and make sure your floor can hold that weight. I have to put support beams in...

    Homebuilt stand question

I run a construction company with my dad and we custom build cabinets all the time. Putting a shim in the gaps is a good as anything. The most important thing is to make sure your tank sits level. Your 50 gallon tank will weigh close to 600 pounds when its all said and done. Those four supports...

    Under gravel filters

I'm really close to setting up my 125 gallon tank and I just want to know if anyone has had experience with under gravel filters. I have the filters and I also have four 1140 penguin power heads to go with it. I'm planning on using my canister filter also, which is a 350 Magnum. I've seen tanks...

Fish and supplies that are overrated?

I have a molly that is pretty aggressive when it comes to feeding time. She will run off other fish if they get near her. And she is huge, I haven't seen a molly get this big before. So in my opinion mollies can be aggressive, I have one to prove it.
