Not all parrots are aggressive. I have three of them and they get along with the other fish in the tank that also has silver dollars, angels and firemouths. They all get along just fine.

I have a water softener and I've been using that water for my two tanks for 4 1/2 years with no problem. The salt makes the softener work but there is no salt in the water. I test my water and it still has a high PH.

I used to worry about forgetting to use Prime. Now I keep the bottle of Prime in the bucket that I use for every water change.

I also do my water changes on Sunday mornings. Last year I had surgery and couldn't do anything for a few weeks. I missed the water change for one week. The second week I had a friend do the water change. The fish were fine. I didn't lose any.

Has anyone used Chemi-Pure in their filters? If so, do you like it?

I suggest looking for the manufacturer's website or a customer service number you can call. That's what I've done several times. I had a few questions about my Fluval canister filters. Fulval was very helpful and responded very quickly.

The gasket needs to be replaced once a year. That's probably why yours is leaking. I had no experience with canister filters until I bought a Fluval canister for my 75 gal. I liked it so much I changed my 45 gal tank over to a Fluval canister too. I love them!

I use API Master Test Kit. I think a lot of people on this site use it.

Anyone find this in the stores? My fish love this and it's hard to find. I've bought it online but I hate those shipping charges.

Why would you want to put leaves or acorns in your tank? They're probably loaded with bacteria.
