Thanks, Dav3. Could it be a feather duster of some sort? The more I look at it, the less it seems like an anemone because of the way the "feathers" flare out, the lack of a visible oral disk, and how quickly it retracts completely into the tiny hole in the rock.

Can someone please help me to identify this creature? It only comes out at night, always in the same spot, and sometimes when I shine a light at it it retracts into the rock. It looks like aptasia but I didn't know they could retract like that.

I think I have the exact same tank and stand! Is it a Deep Blue tank? Where did you get it? I have issues with my sump being too small, but it looks like yours is bigger (mine is probably about 20 x 18 x 12 or so). Good luck with the build, will be following along.
