you dont have to shatter it...if its a decent rock just scuff up the coraline on top and let it fall on other rocks...then let that one rebuild or you can use it for aquascaping....unless its a small piece i would use it multiple times or for mulitple uses.

that works...or turn off all your powerheads and take a razor and scrape that rock and let it fall like snow everywhere and let it take hold for a lil bit

one thing i found that helped but may be time consumping is this...go to he store and by a flat of those cheap cheap cheap water bottles and freeze them solid...then you can either float them in the tank or the sump like me....just replace as they thaw and put a new one in and the old back in...

hey MT79...i have looked into the low calcium and they say this: right now for water changes i add all the salt to the bucket and add the water to it...well this is the opposite of how you are supposed to add the salt...you are supposed to start with all the water you will use and then add salt...

i would say yes its a great preventative investment for FOWLR but i wouldnt think i would be nessicary or beneficial for a coral tank

you are just lucky like me...i have one in a 29 gallon fuge with a bangaii cardinal..they both devour brine shrimp...they will eat prepared foods i think alot more people give them credit for...however i do think its less nessicary to quarantine him...they have a weird slime defense that keeps...

yeah i would wait on the copperband...they arent easy to deal with trust me...they are beautiful but for now i would wait on that...my roomate has a school of 5 bluegreen chromis they are so awesome to watch i would recoomend those..you ever heard of a sixline wrasse they are cool too...

definately look into triggers...i like the more "peaceful" ones like the niger and the pinktail...they have a better reputation for gettign along and not lashing out and killing the tank lol...also tangs are great....i personally recommend the Foxface rabbitfish huge algae eater...gets along...
