Dead leafs on bottom of tank???

Almond leaves also offer anti bacterial effects on fish. And with the dark water is a great look for a fish tank, my peacock bass fry absolutely love the dark water I wouldn't not use almond leaves now as they are brilliant

Dead leafs on bottom of tank???

Don't forget these leaves float for about 48 hours, you are best using a clothes peg or a plant weight to hold them down and once they aren't floating you can arrange them across the bottom, good luck with it all :)

Dead leafs on bottom of tank???

Takes around 4/5 weeks to degrade to the stalk, they aren't much I've just seen a large bag (20) of A grade almond leaves on eBay for £8. Once you are using them you will always use them, they are brilliant water conditioners

Dead leafs on bottom of tank???

Almond leaves from the amazon, there really good, they provide anti fungal action and release loads of nutrients I filled my 90 gallon tank with them littered the bottom made it look really natural, they just rot away leaving the stalk, I wouldn't set a cichlids tank up without almond leaves...

    100 Gallon Tank

Can you fit a sump tank underneath? This doubles water volume and keeps params more stable, also you can hook up an external filter too the sump so no pipe work on your main tank just overflow and return pipe, oscars are a messy fish and require really good filtration I bred them few years back...

    Singles vs pairs

Many cichlids prefer being in groups at a young age but as they mature they normally become solitary or a pair this is true with jaguars or Oscar cichlids

    Driftwood

Plecs graze on bog wood. also it helps there digestive system stops them getting blocked up, so it's always a gd idea have a bit of bog wood in your tank if you own plecs :)

    Driftwood

It slowly lowers ph I've never seen it in any of my cichlids tanks. But it's a really good water conditioner a fresh piece of bog wood leaches tannins which can help certain cichlids with spawning and adds nutrients to the water like almond leaves do. If it does soften the water it does it very...
