One of my male guppies has a really swollen abdomen. I'm not sure what to do. I thought at first I was over feeding him but it dosent seem to get better even if I lessen his food.

If none of the above work you can try acurel-f. It's a tiny vial. A few drops and your water will be nice and clear after about 30 min

Thanks again for your help. I just checked some of my levels and they seem within limits. Only the ammonia is a little high at .20 Yesterday the fish were only swimming only at the top but they they are swimming freely around the entire tank.

It is but it just finished about a week ago.... But even then I had problems because it was my very first tank so I was still learning :-(

By the way I have considered moving the guppies to my older tank but then it would be really overstocked.....

Hi everyone, I need help again. My mother, bless her heart, saw that I was enjoying my 20 gallon tank. So while I was in class today she bought me another 20 gallon tank which she already stocked with fish!!!!! I'm surprised that the pet store didn't warn her about cycling but there you go...

Sorry but im not sure. There was no label on the heater box. It came as a set with the tank. I do know that I have a penguin 150 filter in there.

I don't see anything like those. The only possibility is the hole in the head but its only 1, really shallow,and I only saw it coz he turned a certain angle. It's barely visible so I'm not sure

I just noticed the other barb in the tank bullying the sick one. Could this be the problem? They used to coexist fine until recently......

Thanks for the response. I'll keep a look out for any changes in color but nothing so far. I'm worried more now coz he isn't eating coz he can't find the food and he may stress himself out by swimming so crazily all the time

Just for more info, he is in a 20 gallon tank with 1 other barb and a few guppies. I do 20% water changes once a week. I also vacuum te gravel once a week

I mentioned this before but i thought i would ask again because my electric green barb seems to be getting worse. I'm not sure what is wrong with him. He darts around the tank like mad. He constantly is rubbing against the glass of the tank. I'm worried he maybe losing his eyesight. I don't see...

Hi. I have 2 guppies who are pregnant both seem quite far along. I placed one in a breeders net but when I put the 2nd one in there, the first kept chasing it around. It got so bad that I had to take the 2nd one out. Is that normal? I guess I may have to get a 2nd breeders net?

Yeah I completely understand. I originally had 8 ghost shrimp in there. I think I'm down to 3 :-( Which leads me to my next question of you don't mind. Should I leave the dead shrimp in there for the fish to nibble on?

Lol yeah. They like to nibble on my hand as well. Thanks again for the help. Being new at this sometimes I freak at the slightest irregularity or behavior I haven't seen before.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I was worried there for a second coz I did keep dipping my hand in the tank as well while I moved things around. I added some stress coat + just in case and things seem to be fine now
