Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

Catch them before you start aquascaping. If not then you will most likely have to take all your rocks out to catch them. Also if you dip your live rock in fresh water for about 30 seconds to a minute it will kill most bristleworms. Pick them off with tweezers so you dont get any bristles in...

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

Most fish stores only sell cured or they sell it as cured and its not. Damsels may be a problem later down the road depending on stocking options.

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

You can cure it your self or get it. But if your just throwing it in before the cycle then you can add uncured w.o a prob... once the tank cycles you can only add cured live rock or dry rock. To cure the rock yourself set up a small tub with sw, lights, and something to move the water around...

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

You can cure your LR by letting it sit in the sun for a week or so and let hitch hikers die off... buy 10lbs of live rock cured and 20lbs dry rock... your dry rock will turn into live rock... dry rock is also cheaper

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

Thats why we are all here. To help, learn, and expand our knowledge. I use to add 2-3 at a time when I got mine. The more rock the less the mini cycle will happen.

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

Once the tank cycles... it doesnt have to recycle... just the more LR you have in your tank the more bb you have. Start with some small pieces so you can build a cave or 2 for your fish My 65 after a year of getting LR

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

Used Freshwater Rock for Saltwater Aquarium?

Dont use anything but live/dry rock. No other rock hold bb like it. Thats what you mostly see LR/DR in sw aquariums. Also some rocks could boost your phosphates or hardness of the water. With that being said you would need an expensive test kit and it will give you many problems later down the...

    Live rock

Never heard of dipping. Only dip I know of is copper based and thats the last thing you want to do bc it will get in your silica and stay in your rocks. You wont be able to get it out. It will also kill any inverts. The best thing to do is let it sit in the sun. Time is always the best answer...

    What is this

Its aiptasia... it will spread like wildfires. Get some aiptasia-x from your lfs to get rid of it... if you try to remove it by hand then it will spread seeds all over your tank... also it will sting any coral or fish that comes in contact with it

Misterpenguin4s 4 gallon dwarf puffer tank

Keeping puffers with shrimp are a disaster. Also your puffer will need some salt later down the line. They live in freshwater when they are young and move to saltier water when they get older.
