    Yea, quality is not always easy to find.. I have an otter point with the same problem, but will try and breed it to see if I can get some w/o the the black spots

    ID Help

    Markings are faded and there seems to be a horizontal marking on the top half of its body along with faded vertical bars.. It also doesn't look colorful... My guess its from an assorted tank.

    Regardless of the lemon peel cichlid's identity, Your tank is fully stocked now. The fish would be better off in a bigger tank. Sooner or later, health problems will emerge.

    The spots I can see seem to be those black spots fish have that are harmless. ugly and not aesthetically pleasing, but harmless. If it continues to grow it cud be something else and you should worry. Also, fish behavior?

    Help identifying 2.5" African cichlid.

    Does look like an electric blue female, but spots on body makes me doubt it. Watch out with the feeding.. Looks a bit bloated (knock on wood)

    If spots have never faded and acquired at least some blue shimmer it's a female. Face should have at least gotten some blue at times. Around the cheeks? Could be a late bloomer....

    Ahli.. Assuming its the trade name and not sciaenochromis ahli, should have color at 3inches. It is most likely a female. I can't wait for my steveni Taiwan reef to color up! Probably another year of waiting :( :) :( :]

    Males tend to have a pointier anal fin, but not always a guarantee. They start coloring up at about 3.5" with males getting a blue face with color on body. Females stay looking the same as fry

    What's the size o the peacock? Looks like a jacob. Females show no color. Drab grey, brown..peacocks may take a while to color up if male
