Negative. Alot of playsands have high amounts of Silicates in them, which isn't good for a reef tank. You need sand that has a calcium base..

If you do that, I would bleach the sand, dry it, and then soak it in water for a few days before adding it to your tank. If what you're looking for is just plain sand, than that may work.

I've never worn gloves, and I'm always trying not to get my hands wet, but there's always something that needs attention. It seems like as soon as you've picked up your fallen coral, you have a snail that's fallen upside down, and you feel too guilty not to put it right-side up.

From what I've read, if you want to feed them, wait for the bubles to recede, and then offer it some food when it's sweepers are out. The coral looks beautiful!

It looks like Aragomax sand, just much cheaper. I love the stuff, but have a hard time getting any.

Macro is just different types of Marine Plants.

I use Black Cow in my garden, figured I just throw a few cups in a bucket of SW. I'm not too worried about any health issues with that, and I can't imagine a better source of NO3.

I just acquired about 30 mangrove pods, and I have a few questions. Can I grow them in Freshwater, or only saltwater? Are they that helpful for a refugium? If anyone is interested in some, I'd be happy to ship them over. Just pay for the supplies and shipping.

I suppose that my question would be whether or not the tint would actually prevent the harmful effects of direct sunlight. What in the sunlight actually makes algae grow? The spectrum, UV, etc? What type of static tint would I look for in order to do what I need it to do? I know this is a...
