You could get low light easy to maintain plants. I have a 10 gallon and that's what I decided to do. I don't have anything too fancy or a co2 pump. just an option to think about.

Seachem is honestly the best plant substrate. Its not very expensive and it has always worked for me.

The tank float method has always worked for me. Because my tank is eatablished i dont like to mix store water into my tank. I usually foat and let a little bit of my tank water into their bags a little at a time and drain the fish into a net and welcome them fully into my tank.
