    Need help understanding ph drop

Every time I do a water change I check the ph which is close to 7.0 After a few days the ph drops dramatically. Fish seem to be ok in my 50 gallon until I do a water change of only 10 gallons and then ph drop causes white spots on the fins. This has happened to me many times before. I placed a...

Dwarf puffer in a 5 gallon??

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to hold off for now and wait until I can get my 12 gallon stable enough. I also need to figure out how to get the live food. I'm thinking I would have to produce it myself. Do the like live brine? I know how to do that though it can be tedious. What about...

I think its a for sure thing for me eventually. Do u think I should invest in a larger tank to help prevent water quality errors with the little dwarfs. Or would they just be lost in a big tank?

I did forget to mention I did pick up more of the black neons so I have 5 of those now. Whoo Hoo. They colored up the instant they were all together. The single one I...

White spots on neons tail fin

Yes! Of course you want to continue to solve the root problem. But it works well with fresh and salt water fish. You can even buy it at fish store. Keep refrigerated. I learned it quite a few yrs ago and I found it very helpful. Helps with fish that are sick and to keep fish healthy, also as...

    65 gallon tall first reef

Nice! Love the Yuma. It's a beauty. Are u feeding a small amount of coral food? A baster is good to slowly squirt the food near the coral.

Clean it when u do water changes. Limit light to 6 hrs. Make sure your tank is not near a window. Do not over dose with fertilizers.

    Algae scrubber help

I tried it and things went well. But over time it got to be quite messy and the water was no longer as clear. I went back to a skimmer. I did have water flow problems but my friend did not. Her tank also started looking dingy and she has returned back to a skimmer.

    Guppy is having babies now!!

I never used a breeder net and had much success. I kept a lot of fake floating plants for the babies to hide in as well as some good hiding places around the gravel. I got to many and the tank got over stocked before I knew it. I was giving them away but not at a fast enough pace an ammonia...

    Need help in stocking

I prefer the smaller Tanganyikans. You can have more. I did keep a few more aggressive fish with them but added them later and as babies. I didn't have as many fish though in the 75 because of the size on the types you mentioned.

Should be hard to capture a pic. They are small white wiggly worms. I hate worms and have not cleaned the top surfaces under the lid in about a month or so. Fish love to eat them. They are thin and about 7 mm in length or less. Usually about 5 fall in the tank when I open the lid once a day...
