I'm looking to use 55 gallon food grade barrels with a 2 inch opening... I'm not sure how I could get a power head inside to be honest.

I hear a lot of people say they use a power head in their mixing bucket but I also see a lot of videos where the saltwater is drawn out the bottom and pumped back up to the top of the container... With either work for mixing salt? Pros / cons to either?

Taos are the cheapest and will be better on your electric bill. No chiller either most likely.

Mr X I've actually been looking at external pumps because I'm looking to put my sump in the basement. With that said, I see you're recommending the reflow pumps however I'm noticing a common problem with them and that's the seals are notoriously crap and need replaced often and sometimes right...

For that price get a set of Chinese LED and save the cost of replacing the bulbs.

Fast enough that you don't have stagnant water in the sump.

If they fail there isn't much to them and should be pretty easy and inexpensive to fix. Replacing drivers should only take a few minutes.
