    wet/dry versus refugium

This is my first time using a refugium, and even though its a simple design and concept, I am not much of a DIY'er and would probably screw up a sump and refugium...since its my first time with refugiums, Im gonna get a HOB kind with my CPR skimmer, its seems to be the most convenient and simple...

stocking 50 gallon pentagon corner tank

Yeah, thats a good point about the corals, I didnt even think about that, I have to take that into consideration. I have two powerheads...AC401, and a AC204...I think that should be enough, but if not I can always add another one.

stocking 50 gallon pentagon corner tank

Thanks for your help Steve, as far as my aquascape, I was thinking of piling the live rock (about 60 lbs) in the corner section of the pentagon like wall in the back, that way the front of the tank can be open for the free swimmers. I really like your suggestions on the fish, I think I was...

    wet/dry versus refugium

yeah, thats what I figured as well. I have an extra 10 gallon tank that I had set up as a nano reef once, I still have the dual 40w PC for it too, maybe I should just convert that into a fuge and stick it under the tank. Now I just need to go figure out how to make a fuge with return pumps and...

    wet/dry versus refugium

thanks for the advice, thats what I was thinking as well. Have you guys had any experience with the HOB CPR Aquafuge? Im thinking of setting that up on my 50 FOWLR with my CPR Bakpak skimmer. I was also thinking of just making a refugium, but I am fairly new to this so I might just buy a new one...

    wet/dry versus refugium

what is better for a 50 gallon FOWLR aquarium, a wet dry with protein skimmer, or a refugium with a protein skimmer? Some people say a wet dry system is better for fish only tanks, but others say refugiums are better regardless..TIA

stocking 50 gallon pentagon corner tank

Thanks for the reply, yeah I was thinking of having a few fish around 3-4 inch or less and have about 6-7 in there. I figured a fuge is better than a wet/dry, now I just have to change it up. thanks again.

stocking 50 gallon pentagon corner tank

I have a 50 gallon pentagon corner tank with about 50 pounds live rock, 50 pounds live sand, a CPR skimmer, and a wet dry...it has been cycling for a few weeks now and I want to start stocking it up. Its gonna be a community tank, and perhaps some inverts. Does anybody have any suggestions on...
