Hey all, A friend of mine needs to get rid of this guy. I have a 55 gallon tank with some rainbows, dwarf gouramis, julii cories and a pleco. 1) Can I take him home with me? 2) What is it? I also have a 36 gallon bow front which is empty. Can he go in there?

Wow I'm a bad reader. You totally mentioned that... On that note my false julii corrys are doing just fine with about a 50-60% dose of salt in my tank. Can anyone verify if that's still too much?

I had a case of ich and all I did was add a proper dosage of freshwater aquarium salt. The ich was gone in 3 days. From what I've read here the salt helps the fish fight it off. I guess it provides them the right nutrients and the like.

You think my rainbow will be ok with my corries down the road? They're about 1.75 or 2 inches full grown. Ive had em for 2 or 3 years now. The rainbow is still young at the moment.

I used a product call ick away twice and it colored the water blue for a about 48 hours but it all the blue faded away. No noticeable discoloration anywhere else.

Yup. I did basically the same thing. Much less ich to begin with but same treatment. The salt I used recommends 1 tbs per 5 gallons and I do water changes with 7 gallon rubbermaids. I have 3 false julii corys in my tank with about 75% the recommended amount of salt. They're doing fine but ill double check when I get a chance. Are corys sensitive to salts?
