My freshwater tropical tank is getting really green, there's no algae to be seen on the side but the water is merky and green! What should I go, I've tried to let it settle, replaced my footer sponge and tried chemicals but it's getting worse! What should I do?

I recently had a problem with one of my gouramis, he was lying on the bottom and getting rather large! Now he's perked up a lot but seems to be changing colour from a golden colour to almost a black colour! Any advice?

I recently bought a pair of gouramis! One of them is a much darker colour and has recently gotten a lot larger and it's stomach area is significantly bigger, it's currently resting at the bottom of the tank which it never does! Any idea what's wrong?
