    Sick Yellow Tang

I don't know why I couldn't find this post about sick fish, probably because I was too stressed and didn't look in the right place, it's been a while since I've been here. Thanks. I do believe my tang was too far gone for any help.

    Sick Yellow Tang

I did move the tang to a sick tank, he passed on, unfortunately. I moved the clown to a sick tank and began treatment with Furan-2, which is what I had ordered for the tang. The clown had the exact same symptoms (lying around the bottom, but still eating, starting to look thin) and after two...

    Where are the Mods?

Thanks mods for checking in. I was just so surprised because when I was on here years ago it was a very active forum. I do understand that things change, as far as what the members interests are and who posts about what, but I only come here for advice, so... Anyway, will update sick yellow...

    Where are the Mods?

I used to spend a lot of time on this forum and I loved it here. I moved to the country and I still have my saltwater tank, but I have a lot of animals and a lot of other interests. I still check in from time to time. Recently I had a problem where a powerhead electrified the water in the...

    Sick Yellow Tang

It turns out my yellow tang passed on. He was too bad off. But my clown fish is not showing the same early symptoms, lying on the bottom, but still very interested in eating. He comes up whenever I get close to the tank. I'm treating with the Furan-2 and will see what happens. Maybe I caught...

    Sick Yellow Tang

I cannot find them online. I searched and search. I did end up buying Furan 2, I believe that's the name. It's active ingredient is nitrofurazone. That's is an antibiotic so I'm trying that.

    Sick Yellow Tang

I wasn't sure, but I was thinking that might be it. Only because I looked up the symptoms online. So, I just found out that we can no longer buy the antibiotics we used to be able to buy (Maracyn, Maracyn 2). The Mardel fish disease chart says Maracyn 2 would treat this. But since I can't...

    Sick Yellow Tang

Hello All, I know it's been a while since I posted. Most recently I posted about an electrical problem with a Rio pump, which electrocuted my tank water, the fish were okay once I got them out. They spent a month or so in a hospital tank while I cleaned up the main display tank. I moved them...

    Powerhead Electrical Problem

Thanks for the advice. I bought carbon today and planned to run a bunch, I will change it out a couple of times. I will looking into the Seachem product.

    Powerhead Electrical Problem

One more thing, I'm going to run the tank with a bunch of carbon to see if that will remove the smell from the tank. It was almost completely gone once I turned off everything, but I started some of the pumps and a heater after I found my problem because I don't want to lose my live rock and...

    Powerhead Electrical Problem

Hello All, I have not been on this site for a long time. I moved to the country, got a couple of horses, had grandkids (well, I didn't have them) but I still have my saltwater tank (125G) and a couple of old fish that are hanging in there. I have also been absorbed in moderating on a reptile...

Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System w/Timer

They would be MarineDepot.com. I called to ask them about it. Anyone have advice on a good system that would suit my needs? Specs on my tank are above. I just want to upgrade so I can keep more species of inverts in my reef tank. Right now I have an LTA, a condi, mushroom coralimorphs, some...

Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System w/Timer

I have questions about this system. Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System w/Timer VIEW LARGER IMAGE It's supposed to be reef capable. I have a 72" long tank, that's 22"deep and 18" wide. I called the seller and asked about it. I want to change my tank from a power compact lighting...

    Installing Baffles in Sump

Hey there, good to hear from you, it's been awhile. You might remember we talked about that red "stuff" that grew out of nowhere on my rock. I was going to send you some if it was still around in the spring last year. It wasn't. It died off and hasn't come back. It sure was cool-looking...

    Installing Baffles in Sump

One more thing, my skimmer is an Aqua C Remora, so I could hang it on the sump in the intake area, with a little creative placement of the two drain bulkheads if ya'll think it's best placed before the refugium.

    Installing Baffles in Sump

Hey All, It's been so long since I've checked in on the site, I feel guilty starting a thread! But I do have a couple questions and I always get good advice here. I have a wet/dry filter under my reef tank. I don't use bio-balls or filter floss anymore, not since I realized they are nitrate...

    Keeping the Nitrifying Bacteria Alive

Here's a pic of the nautilus. It was bumping around the tank. Funny, but sad. I think it needs to be in the ocean. I hope this works. I could not load the photo here because I have reached my limit over the years, and the system won't let me delete old photos...
