ok, the flubal 404 filter, could i turn that down 5x per hour, or do i need to go wit a different filter? cause i plant on planting my 55 gal.

Ok, i narrowed down what everyone said and i figured on getting a Fluval 404 canister filter for my 55 gal tank. And probably and aqua-clear 200 for my 20 gal. Does this sound about right to everyone...i know everyone will have slight changes on what they feel is better, but am I goin the...

i currently have 3 neon tetra's floating happly around my 20 gal tank. I checked my water parameters and everythin is in balance. I noticed that one of my neon tetra's likes to lose all of its color. It kinda gets dark. Then just as quick as that happens, it goes back to its normal vibriant...

yea, i will probably just keep the ones that came wit the tanks. I was just curious that is all. I will make sure that I seed the new filters a few days prior to changing the old ones. Thanks for your advice.

how much does one of those bio-wheels run cost wise? for the 20 gal? for the 55 gal?

I have a whipser 20 on my 20 gal tank. Also a Aqua-Tech 30-60 on my 55 gal tank. Both came wit the tanks when i purchased them. Will these filters make do, or should i get somethin bigger to cycle more water?

another question i have, is after the tank is finished cycling...how often should you test your parameters...every week unless noted by unhappy fish or a sudden death?

Yes, i understand about the pwc :D just wondering if bio-spira would work with existing fish already in the tank for a week. My understanding from what i read is that the bacteria need the fish. So what I gather is that it is ok to add bio-spira to my current status of my tank.

Say your cycling with fish for about a week. Realize your tired of testing and pwc. Could you just go out and buy Bio-Spira and add in with your current fish...or should you empty everything/clean add everythin back in and get new fish and bio-spira?
