mine has a small cave he hides in on the right side of my tank. tends to be out and about when im not around. if i watch from a distance its all over the place. get close and it tends to shy away.
mine did this randomly one time. i believe it was stings. its very common. if you google clown fish black spots there are tons of photos. my clown cleared up after about a week. but no way to know for sure
I wish I knew. some people call it a branching montipora. I've never been able to find one like it. even in pictures. so if anyone knows for sure please feel free to share.
do you have a cover? its not too often but clowns do jump. i had mine for 6 years of running an open top tank and out of the blue he jumped out. it only happend about 2 weeks ago. i am genuinely still sad about it.
Google sump bubble trap. it's 3 dividers all placed fairly close together that diffuse the bubles before getting to the return pump. if possible try placing some filter floss between one of the dividers after the protein skimmer.
thanks mr.x .ya the red flat worms are very irritating. i have flatworm exit. i used it once and thought i had them beat. but they come back with force.
here are a few new shots. i still cant figure out good settings for the new led lights.
never underestimate the reach of a galaxy coral.
my really odd zoanthids that did a full morph on colour and now look like this.
not a coral but i just love coraline algea
the colour morph happend well before the leds went on. they have only been on for about 2 weeks now. the colour changed happend about a month ago. i will try a lower light spot and see what happens. they are very unique in colour. reminds of like a zombie kinda green and a very odd faded pink...
that does make sense because there health started to decline when I had to pull the fish out for quarantine for just over a month. after about a week of them being out I was still following my water change weekly even with no fish. after I put the fish back in they started to recuperate.
zero nitrate and phosphate. i was running 4xt5 ho lighting 156 watts. now running 120 watt led taotronic style unit. lighting change didnt affect the look of them. its a 30 gal long tank. i dont have the rest of my readings right now. but everything is stable. tank is running perfectly. all...
i dont think its fair to say bare bottom is ugly. there are some extreamly beautiful bare bottom tank. but there are pros and cons.
cons:
debris settles and is much more visible.
not as much room for benificial bacteria to grow.
limits fish choice since pod population wont be as high and sand...
i purchased a small colony of zoanthids not to long ago just normal red zoos. here is a pic of them about 1.5 months ago.
something happend in my tank and my corals were on a slight decline in health and i noticed my zoas melting away. there was only 1 head left on a little piece of rock and...
here is a comparison pic on my green Monti. no sure what kind it is. seems to be growing fast. this is about 1.5 months. and I recieved it in a very distressed state. so after recuperation time the growth rate seems good.
if you don't mind me asking how much did the lense cost you? I have the same camera. I assume you use a custom white balance as well? some specifics on your settings would be helpful. I just got my leds and I can't get a good picture for the life of me now.
