Yeah I will most definitely use pool filter sand. I'm still not sure if I will end up doing a community tank or just some cory but do you think they will breed a lot if I have just them in the tank? I'm not sure I want to go that route if that's the case lol
Well I definitely still want to think of community tank stocking options too but the cory option seems nice as well. I was thinking some cory on the smaller side, I want something that is hardy as well...:)
Hey guys...
I was wondering if I could have some people suggest stocking layouts for my 29 gal tank?. All I know for sure is I would like some type of cory catfish in the mix. I know I need to cycle the tank beforehand which is my plan, just wanted to have ideas ready for when it go time.
As...
Thanks, I think I'll order some and try it out. I have two new 55 gallon tanks so I'm gonna go with pool filter sand in one and the Caribsea Tahitian Moon sand you suggested. :)
Well just figured I would give an update since so many people helped and gave me advice. My 36 bow is now cycled and all the fish I want in there for now are doing great.
I'm so happy I went the fishless cycle route and I appreciate all the help I got from you all.
THANKS!
Thanks to everybody who replied. :)
I'm going to head out tomorrow and look into each of the sands you all mentioned.
It seems to me the aquarium sand I can get at a lfs is more of a fine sand you might say? I read something that said pool filter sand is a good option also because it has a...
Hey everybody! back again
Alright well I just bought two 55 gallon fish tanks and don't want to go with gravel like my other tanks.
Not only do I prefer the look of sand in an aquarium better than gravel but I'm going to have a big school of Corys in each tank and I figured they would...
Thank you for all of your help. I'm going to look into both products a little more and make my decision. I think I'm leaning towards the canister road right now. I'm going to look for the Bronze Corys next time I'm at the pet store. Have you had any dealings with Albino Corys?
Looks like I'm gonna have to decide if I want to go hob or canister lol
Yeah, I decided I'm going to let the natural tank process take place when it comes to the fry. If none survive oh well. If some live I do have two other tanks not being used that I could put to use.
So maybe I'll go with 8 of the Panda Corys. Would that be an acceptable number to keep them happy?
Yes everybody keeps telling me the Aquaclear hob filters are the best. Are they known to be pretty quiet? say compared to the Aqueon type I currently have? Sorry for all the questions I just like...
Thank you for the input. I really like the Cory catfish so I will definitely be adding some to my tank. I did some looking around and found out Platys are livebearers.
So I bought 4 plastic breeders and figured I could put any females that get pregnant in there when they look close to giving...
I'll be checking out the Aquaclear line of filters tonight after work. Ok so I'll add 6 more Neons. As for the Corydoras funny you should mention them because I was actually looking at some Albino and Panda ones that I liked a lot. Maybe I could do like 2 of each kind?
Hey Everybody!
I have two questions I would really appreciate some help with. I have an Aqueon 36 gallon bow front tank and I was told a canister filter could be better for my tank than the HOB I currently have.
Does anyone have a few good suggestions for some canister filters that would be...
I was also able to obtain my friends fathers filter cartridge he was just finished using to seed his new cartridge he bought. He said his tank has been established for about two years and he hasn't had any problems in the last year. I hope this can help with my cycle.
