Hi all, I have recently purchased a second hand 130d, whilst I love the tank, the skimmer sounds like a tank! I am thinking of upgrading to the tunze 9002 and wondered if there is a noticeable in noise?

Anyone how much would be too much in regard to flow rate in my tank. Currently got the standard 2 that come with it, looking to upgrade 1 now. Would 1400 lph be too much? Thanks

Thanks both. I won't be putting anything new in until the quality of the water is sorted. I will have the lfs check it in a couple of weeks time after a few water changes and go from there. Appreciate your help. Cheers

Maybe it's more a case that the quality of water is just too poor for them? Everything that is in the tank has been there for a long time and would be used to the conditions a little more? Or perhaps the stress of being in the bag for too long has not helped?

Wow that many? Over what kind of period would I need to spread that across? I've tried to be very thorough with acclimatisation,drip a little water in every 20 minutes or so for 3-4 hours. I was going to put it down to the previously high salinity.

So had the water tested today; Ph - 8.0 Nh3 - 1.2 No2 - 0 No3 - 15ppm Po4 - 0.25ppm Salinity - 1.027 Ammonia is very high but hopefully with plenty of water changes I'll get the healthy tank I want.

Can anyone recommend a pump that will fit the river reef but perform much better? Anyone changed the river reef hood for an alternative as well?

Thanks Craig. The water is changed weekly, the tank is 94 litres and I'm taking out roughly 12 litres each time. All of the fish, including the cardinal are/seem very happy and active in the tank. Thanks
